Fulgora is the electromagnetic planet in Factorio 2.0’s<\/a> Space Age DLC. It is the 3rd planet that will surely take tens of hours of your time again. Like most of the planets you have encountered, the first question is always how to get power. Getting unlimited power gives you access to everything else, such as drones, automation, and more. It is also kind of obvious that your main source of power will be through lightning, but how exactly do you extract that to get power in Fulgora? Here’s the best way to do it. <\/p>

How to Harvest Power in Fulgora in Factorio 2.0<\/h2>

The main way to get power in Fulgora is to make use of the lightning strikes on the planet. It doesn’t make sense to get any other form of power aside from the environment, and it is easier than you think. <\/p>

Upon landing in Fulgora, you’ll notice some green circles around the map. These green circles are from the natural lightning attractor objects on the planet. These attractors get hit by the lightning, protecting everything around its radius (green circle). You want to delete these objects and create your own Lightning Rods. <\/p>

When you unlock the Fulgora planet, you should have the Lightning Rods immediately available. Craft them using Steel Plates<\/a>, Copper Cables, and Stone Bricks, which are all readily available on the planet through mining Fulgoran ruins. <\/p>

Once you have the Lightning Rods, cover the whole area with Lightning Rods and make sure you have everything covered. Attach a Substation or any power pole next to the Lightning Rods and make sure everything is connected to one main power line.<\/p>

Once you have them running, each lightning strike on the Lightning Rod will provide power to the whole power grid. Now, you want a way to store this power so electricity doesn’t fluctuate. Build as many Accumulators as possible and make sure they are all connected to the main power line.<\/p>

Each lightning that strikes a rod will contribute power to your grid, storing all the excess through Accumulators. When the lightning storm settles, you’ll have the Accumulators as backup for your power. <\/p>

Best Power Setup in Fulgora in Factorio 2.0<\/h2>

The best power setup in Fulgora is literally to have as many Accumulators in one main power grid as possible. When you start expanding in Fulgora, each island will have its separate power grid since you cannot build on deep oil oceans yet. You have no way to connect the power grids from different islands, forcing you to always carry Accumulators when expanding.<\/p>

The best way to build a powerful power grid is by dedicating one large section of the island to purely Accumulators. The bigger the island, the better the base. In the case above, a sixth of the island is made out of Accumulators. Now, the power generated by these Accumulators also relies on how much land you cover.<\/p>

Placing multiple Lightning Rods in the same small area does not generate more power. Increasing your coverage does as you will get more lightning strikes if you cover more areas. Since the island is limited, your power will also be limited \u2013 until you can finally expand in Fulgora. <\/p>

You always want to look at the electric network info by opening any of your power lines. Pay attention to the power spikes and make sure you have enough. A good measurement is to see the blue lines quadruple everything else on your network. If you don’t have a big production line, you won’t run out of power. And even if you have a big factory, as long as you fill 1\/6 of the island in Accumulators and have every inch covered with Lightning Rods, you should be fine. <\/p>

Small Power Grids for Smaller Islands<\/h2>

When trying to acquire new Scrap nodes<\/a> from other islands, you’ll make another set of Accumulators. However, you don’t need to build a completely new base. Since your main base should have all the production builds, products, and leftover resources, you want to bring everything to the main base for production.<\/p>

So, the best way to power up other islands is to create enough Accumulators to power the drills and inserters for the train. Try to cover the whole island with Lightning Rods and Substations\/Big Electric Poles to generate power. If your drills are fully operational, build trains to bring all the resources (Scraps) from this island to your main island for processing. <\/p>

You’ll create a whole train system, or even making separate train ways should also work (maybe even preferable since you are expanding frequently and your previous Scrap nodes might run out). <\/p>

Once you reach the 4th planet and unlock Foundations, every problem in Fulgora will be a thing of the past. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
